Dr. Chloë Powell

Licensed Psychologist

(she/her)

Hello! I’m Chloë - Licensed Psychologist and founder of Ember Psychology Center. I’m so glad you are here.

At Ember, I’ve created a space where curiosity, compassion, and creativity come together. Whether I’m diving deep into the puzzle pieces of a psychological assessment or supporting clients on their healing journey in therapy, my hope is to help people reignite their inner ember—nurturing the flames and reconnecting with your authentic, unmasked self.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham, U.K., in 2015. After graduating, I moved to the U.S., where I worked in community mental health and forensic settings in Washington D.C., gaining invaluable experience with diverse populations. I later relocated to Canada to pursue my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Adler University, graduating in 2023. During my doctoral training, I gained extensive experience providing individual and group therapy, as well as conducting neuropsychological assessments, in various settings, including residential substance use treatment centers, outpatient clinics, and private practices.

Outside of Ember, you’ll likely find me sipping on a cup of coffee or tea, adventuring outdoors with my golden retriever, trying new restaurants, creating digital artwork, or getting lost in a great book.

approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is fundamentally person-centered, prioritizing a warm, empathetic, therapeutic relationship at its core. I believe that it is this secure relationship that promotes healing and meaningful growth. Feeling truly seen and understood—just as you are—is essential in the therapeutic process.

Therapy can be a little like venturing into the depths of a cave - filled with uncertainty, fear, and the unknown. As your fellow traveler and guide, my role is to walk you through the darkness to help you feel less alone and support you with discovering the treasures that await.

My approach with clients is individualized and integrative, though I tend to use emotion-focused, attachment-informed, and experiential therapies. Some examples of these include, Internal Family Systems (IFS), AEDP, & Coherence Therapy. I use humor and laughter when needed and bring my curious and playful spirit into the therapy room.
